Barista Camp isn’t just fun and games! It’s fun and games and a strong educational program, in line with competitive industry standards and maintained by SCA’s Coffee Skills Program.

The courses and workshops are taught by an amazing group of Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) from all over the world, including Ireland, Poland, Malaysia, the US, and Greece. They bring a wide range of expertise and their own unique path to coffee and development within the industry that they will share throughout Barista Camp.

We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Barista Camp Greece trainers are Trish Ferguson, Dayana Coppini, Angelo Sportelli, Cadence Sim, Rose Nicholson, Thomas Ameloot, Giorgos Alaniadis, Blazej Walczykiewicz, Panagiotis Konstantinopoulos, and Leonardo Santelli.

What do the trainers have to say about being a part of Barista Camp?

“I especially enjoy teaching brewing and sensory modules, because I get to share my learnings and calibration range I obtained from both national and world competitions to my fellow students.” - Cadence Sims, Lead AST - Brewing Intermediate

“I approach  every class as a moment of sharing with humility and enthusiasm, alternating from the theoretical parts to the practical parts throughout the whole course, as well as including some entertainment at the end of the class. I want to share  happiness with the people participating and make them feel comfortable because coffee for me is a connecting bridge and it really unites people, more than every other social glue, and that's one of the main reasons why I love it.” - Leonardo Sanetti, Assistant AST - Green Intermediate

“I love being an AST and a barista, to be able to share my passion and knowledge, to help and support the Lead AST, and to educate students from all over the world reunited in one place. It’s also a great challenge and opportunity to grow my skills even more and meet new people who share the same passion as me.” - Dayana Coppini, Assistant AST - Barista Intermediate

“I am incredibly passionate about my job and I believe I bring a good balance of fun and enthusiasm, along with depth of knowledge about every module that I teach. I'm always striving to learn more and the days I'm not teaching, I'm doing more research and always trying to learn more, be that from books, research papers, attending talks and workshops or learning from the extensive knowledge of my colleagues. I attended Barista Camp last year as a student of Green Intermediate, and I had such a fantastic time I would love to have new students be as excited as I was last year. I also attended Co:Lab in Bucharest last year which I found extremely enlightening.” - Rose Nicholson, Assistant AST - Brewing Intermediate

The ASTs will be teaching four different tracks with optional certifications. This year the SCA Coffee Skills Program Modules include:

  • Barista Intermediate

  • Brewing Intermediate

  • Green Intermediate

  • Sensory Professional

A first for Barista Camp – we’re offering the opportunity to take a Professional Level CSP module. Attendees will have the chance to complete their Sensory Professional course under the guidance of three highly knowledgeable ASTs in a reduced class size. Spaces for the Sensory Professional Module are selling fast!
