Current Volunteer Role

I am currently on the competitions committee, the Barista Guild of America Membership Committee, and have had the opportunity to emcee the U.S. Latte Art Championships.

How long have you been volunteering for the SCAA?

I started as a volunteer in 2013 and SCAA has been an important part of my coffee life ever since.

What was the first SCAA event you volunteered for an what your duties?

Myself and a fantastic team of individuals helped create and put on the first Latte Art competition at The 25th Annual SCAA Event in Boston.

Describe your most memorable volunteering experience so far?

It’s hard to describe a specific moment. For me, it truly is about serving along side and taking care of people in our great industry.

How has volunteering influenced your coffee career?

Volunteering for SCAA has brought me closer to so many terrific people that make me better at what I do every day. It is amazing to see everyone pitching in to make something amazing happen. These events, classes, and gatherings don’t happen without hard work and coffee people sure do know how to work hard and then play hard.
