And that’s a wrap!
The Livelihoods in Coffee webinar series has now come to an end after four brilliant episodes. On behalf of the entire Barista Guild Leadership Council, were so pleased to be able to bring this series to the community, and we want to thank the hundreds of people who joined the conversation, both live and by tuning into our YouTube videos. Thank you so much to our special guests for this series, industry professionals who spoke to us about the concepts and implications of living wage and living income, and answered important questions on how and why they should be implemented into coffee businesses around the globe.
“One thing that's always amazing to me is seeing how innovative people are able to solve a problem that many others don't even recognize is a problem,” says Ever Meister of the Barista Guild Leadership Council. “I've heard many business owners say, ‘We simply can't pay more,’ rather than tread through unfamiliar territory in order to find something new. During this series, we were able to hear from folks who decided not to settle for ‘can't’ and decided to seek a ‘will’ instead."
We hope this conversation has inspired you — and continues to inspire you! — to carry the conversation forward and see what positive changes we as a community can bring to the industry, one step at a time. All four episodes of the Livelihoods in Coffee series are now available on YouTube to watch at your leisure, and we have a bunch more resources to share on the topic.
