Barista Guild Leadership Council 2023 Vision
In March the Barista Guild shared the path that has brought our leadership council members to their role. This series of Instagram Lives began with a chat between Jessika Heredia, current Chair, and Sandra Ventura, a member of the Leadership Council. Their experience acquired as volunteers of the Barista Guild has been fundamental to presenting this year’s vision.
In recent years, the Barista Guild has developed different projects and activities. The main themes were livelihoods in coffee, professional development, education, and coffee competitions. All this would not be possible without the energy of the amazing volunteers from the leadership council.
They shared that the honour and responsibility to represent the barista community is the inspiration behind the main goal this year, which is to have constant communication with members, along with baristas in general. We know that professional knowledge is developing in some parts of the world, and more advanced in others; we don't want to exclude anyone. We want to be a bridge that connects different expertise and helps baristas learn and feel part of a community.
These have undoubtedly been the objectives since the beginning of the formation of the guilds. We believe that this global vision must involve more actors with a local and international perspective.
The main objectives and Jessika's vision for 2023:
Create activities that promote the professional development of the members of the BG community.
Focus on education, how to gain experience, skills, and social relationships–where everyone can feel represented, and where they can participate.
Promote the accessibility of information by offering content options in different languages
We want to focus on friendly and hardworking people. We want to highlight their knowledge of coffee. We want to share their techniques to prepare delicious drinks. We see professionals who know how to present a product to clients to add value to their profession and the product they represent.
Those community members would have more opportunities and growth. It doesn't matter if they are from local or international communities. They have support if they are connected and exchange knowledge. This would help professionals to network and learn one from another.
We are grateful to share those thoughts and we can't wait to see more people connected to our activities, and engaging, we want to open spaces of conversation. If you have ideas, time, and energy we want to hear from you!

Compartiendo la Visión del Barista Guild para el 2023
En marzo, Barista Guild compartió el camino que ha llevado a nuestros miembros del consejo de liderazgo a su función. Esta serie de Instagram Lives comenzó con una charla entre Jessika Heredia, actual Presidenta, y Sandra Ventura, miembro del Consejo de Liderazgo. Su experiencia adquirida como voluntarias del Barista Guild ha sido fundamental para presentar la visión de este año.
En los últimos años, el Gremio de Baristas ha desarrollado diferentes proyectos y actividades. Los temas principales fueron los medios de subsistencia en el café, el desarrollo profesional, la educación y las competencias de café. Todo esto no sería posible sin la energía de los increíbles voluntarios del consejo de liderazgo.
Compartieron que el honor y la responsabilidad de representar a la comunidad de baristas es la inspiración detrás del objetivo principal de este año, que es tener una comunicación constante con los miembros, junto con los baristas en general. Sabemos que el conocimiento profesional se está desarrollando en algunas partes del mundo, y más avanzado en otras; no queremos excluir a nadie. Queremos ser un puente que conecte diferentes experiencias y ayude a los baristas a aprender y sentirse parte de una comunidad.
Estos han sido sin duda los objetivos desde el inicio de la formación de los gremios. Creemos que esta visión global debe involucrar a más actores con una perspectiva local e internacional.
Los principales objetivos y la visión de Jessika para 2023:
Crear actividades que promuevan el desarrollo profesional de los miembros de la comunidad BG.
Concéntrese en la educación, cómo adquirir experiencia, habilidades y relaciones sociales, donde todos puedan sentirse representados y donde puedan participar.
Promover la accesibilidad de la información ofreciendo opciones de contenido en diferentes idiomas
Queremos centrarnos en personas amables y trabajadoras. Queremos destacar su conocimiento del café. Queremos compartir sus técnicas para preparar deliciosas bebidas. Vemos profesionales que saben presentar un producto a los clientes para agregar valor a su profesión y al producto que representan.
Esos miembros de la comunidad tendrían más oportunidades y crecimiento. No importa si son de comunidades locales o internacionales. Tienen apoyo si están conectados e intercambian conocimientos. Esto ayudaría a los profesionales a trabajar en red y aprender unos de otros.
Estamos agradecidos de compartir esos pensamientos y estamos ansiosos por ver a más personas conectadas a nuestras actividades y comprometidas, queremos abrir espacios de conversación. Si tiene ideas, tiempo y energía, ¡queremos saber de usted!
